Project Overview

The main purpose of the Latino Child Care Choices Project was to learn about child care needs and factors related to child care utilization among Latino low-income working families living in the South.

What do we want to learn?

  • How family characteristics are associated with Latino parents' choice of care for their preschool aged children
  • How program characteristics are associated with Latino parents' choice of non-parental care
  • What Latino parents' views are about the characteristics of quality care,  and to what extent the type and quality of child care used by Latino families meet their child care needs
