Advisory Committee
The role of the Advisory committee is to help shape the work of NCODH, ensure that state and local priorities address the needs of individuals with disabilities, and assist NCODH with the identification of emerging opportunities.
The NCODH Advisory Committee members are asked to:
- Share their expertise, ideas, and opinions,
- Assist NCODH with prioritizing initiatives and activities,
- Identify emerging opportunities and issues,
- Assist with recruiting new partners for the Advisory Committee and targeted initiatives,
- Carry information from the NCODH Advisory Committee to their constituency,
- Carry information from the their constituency to NCODH,
- Serve as "spokespersons/champions" of accessibility, inclusion and health for all,
- Assist with monitoring the State Plan to Improve the Health of Persons with Disabilities.
The NCODH Advisory Committee includes people with disabilities, family members, advocates, public health and healthcare professionals, and representatives from community, state, and educational organizations.
