Latino Child Care Choices Parent Interview

The Latino Child Care Choices Project is conducting face-to-face interviews with Latino parents of 3 and 4 year old children with the following child care situations:

  • Latino parents whose child attends a child care center
  • Latino parents whose child attends a family child care home (formal-informal and neighbor/relative care.
  • Latino parents who are taking care of their own child at home.

The interview asks questions about Latino families’ child care preferences and expectations, awareness and utilization of child care subsidies, reasons for selecting the types of child care they use, the language and literacy activities used at home, parenting practices, and parent support. The interview also includes a section about Latino families’ demographic characteristics.
